Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at tracey@k9doggydaycareuk.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

We ask that dog parents bring a packed lunch for their dog, which means there are no worries about different foods upsetting anyone's tummy. We do offer treats/rewards during the day, but this will be discussed during enrolment.

Our dedicated staff will send you photos during their stay, this may be in the daycare or whilst enjoying a walk.

There’ll be plenty of fun on offer throughout their day!

Yes and No, in order to keep all the dogs safe we will request a copy of your dog’s vaccination card given by your vet.

Or a copy of a recent titer test showing levels of immunity.

It is vital that your dog and other people’s dogs are kept safe from infections.

The following vaccinations or titer test results must include: canine distemper, adenovirus (hepatitis), parvovirus and leptospirosis. Dogs being boarded must also have kennel cough.

nb - please note that the titer test does not include leptospirosis.

We don’t offer overnight boarding, we are a daycare only.

Our staff understand that these things happen occasionally, however if you are 15 mins or more late there is a small charge to keep the correct amount of staffing on site until you arrive.

Please see terms and conditions

No, we will arrange a visit and induction session to ensure your dog can socialise positively with the daycare dogs.

Female dogs in season cannot attend daycare with 'complete' male dogs. We can discuss this with you if the situation arises. The most important thing is to keep her safe and calm away from the boys! And avoid any aggression.

The daycare has 3 gates between the dog area and the road, two of which are over 6 feet tall.

During walks, no dog will be let off the lead. Although many dogs have great recall this is not a risk we are willing to take with your precious pooch. In addition, each dog will have a doggy daycare tag attached to them in the unlikely case that they become separated from the staff.

As part of the enrolling process there are 3 steps; firstly a detailed form is completed by the owner that describes all behaviours and needs, secondly an appointment is arranged to come and meet your dog in their own home and thirdly a 'taster session' is arranged to ensure that your dog enjoys their time with us.

Should there be any issues from behaviour to anxiety to distress, we can discuss in detail and make decisions on the best course of action; which can also include ceasing the placement if appropriate.

Daycare can be paid in two ways; either cash on the day you drop them off with the staff member, or online banking (preferably before they arrive).

Yes, I have a home boarding license from Erewash Borough Council. This is on display in the daycare and can be seen on request.

Yes, I have level 3 in dog behaviour and welfare. I also have Canine First Aid and Dog Grooming Certificates.

My dbs certificate shows no criminal offences.

All of my certificates will be shared with owners.

Yes, I have home boarding, daycare and dog walking insurance which includes public liability.

My garden doggy daycare has heating and air conditioning to guard against issues with temperature changes.

If we all get wet during walks, I will utilise my grooming equipment to ensure the dogs are dried as quickly as possible.

Your dog will be with staff for the majority of the day, however, if there are 4 or more dogs they will be split into 2 groups for dogs walks. So whilst one group is walking, the other group will be in single kennels with cctv monitoring for 1 hour only.

This means that each group have a high level of supervision and control outside of the daycare. You can choose to give permission on our owners form.

Yes, puppies can attend daycare. They will have a specialist timetable to ensure they have allocated rest time, playtime and feeding time which may be different to the mature dogs.

This is dependent on the amount of other dogs booked in; however just contact Tracey a week in advance to check availability.
